My coworkers talked about The Conjuring movie when we were in the office. That was the time I heard about the film. They said that it was a hilarious scary film that possessed some of the viewers after watching it. At first I was hesitant to watch this film, but when my friends asked me to watch it together with them and managed to bring me in the theater, I still ended up watching it.

James Wan captured the attention of the viewers

I thought this movie was so very scary, but in my own opinion it was not. In the first half of the film, I think there was just a mild scary thing happening. But the second half of the film, it offered the fright. There was no gore, no sex and no cursing, but there were only scares. Even though this film was not that perfect, but James Wan captured the attention of the viewers that was why it got high rating and got popular around the world.

Director James Wan aesthetic and creative mind

The storyline, acting, tone, direction, style and sound design were great. The sound effects, scares and camera angles were precisely combined which make this film interesting. The cinematography was perfectly stunning. It was good that it was set in 70’s to make it look possible for this biography horror film. It was really impossible to have a bio horror at present. If it was set in the present phase, it would not be as scary and frightening. The costuming, 70’s film style making and hair styling were a perfect throwback. Director James Wan was using his aesthetic mind to have this perfect set up. The good thing was that the apparitions were not revealed earlier to the viewers which allowing the imagination of the viewers to function what makes this movie absolutely frightening.

This movie wasn’t perfect but there was something in this film that makes you scared and jump in your seat.  The building of tension was there and the movie set was chosen perfectly. Though there are little flaws such as repetitiveness and an image resolution that takes place too fast. But, overall I still liked this film because I enjoyed watching it. I don’t care if there were some flaws in this film because in every film there were surely have some flaws in it.

This film got a great success in box office, played by Chadwick Boseman as Jackie Robinson, a talented, outstanding, multifaceted baseball player. This was a life story of Jackie Robinson and his history making achievement with Brooklyn Dodgers under the guidance of team executive Branch Rickey. The writer/director Brian Helgeland putted up everything in the film. He did a great job in creating the entire film.

The director mixed all the important elements

Brian Helgeland brought off all the important elements to make the film successful. He mixed up all the necessary elements such as drama, humor, romance and baseball action since it was about a carrier in baseball whilst showing an excellent tale regarding recent American history. The good thing in “42” was that it didn’t focus only the story and life of Jackie Robinson. This movie portrayed everything not only one man.

It had a complete sense of humor and educational as well

I was captivated in this film because it had a complete sense of humor and educational at the same time. It was a smart and inspirational film. This film encapsulates the woes that not merely Jackie and his family dealt with, but also the hatred which was presented in the direction of the people who backed up him like Branch Rickey (Harrison Ford) and Wendell Smith (Andre Holland).

The acting, casting and cinematography were brilliant

The acting and casting was brilliant. I appreciated the cinematography and the fantastic camera angles which perfectly captured the complete movement of the baseball players and the unspoken interaction between the team members. The sport outfit and the location were also prepared well and consistent for the time period.

Jackie Robinson had an exceptional and outstanding character

The actors and actresses did a great job with their characters. For me, the best character here was Jackie Robinson reenacted by Chadwick Boseman because he really presented a real emotion and he acted in a realistic way. The life of Jackie faced a lot of challenges from one time to another, but always had the courage to overcome all these challenges. Jackie Robinson personality was exceptional. He was an inspirational person and outstanding character. This film not only focused on Jackie but also the other roles like Branch Rickey palyed by Harrison Ford, journalist Wendell Smith played by Andre Holland who played in Robinson’s sport career and Robinson's wife Rachel (Nicole Beharie). All the cast offered the best performances.

All in all, “42” was a witty, inspiring and educational biopic that would surely capture the heart of the viewers.
