The romance story the movie tells
Summer in February is about an epic love story and betrayal, focuses on a colony of Bohemian artists at the start of the 20th century in the beautiful place in Cornwall. The story centers on the love triangle between Alfred Munnings and Florence Carter-Wood and Harold Knight. I saw that Harold and Florence were best matched, but the girl accepted a marriage proposal from Alfred Munnings, a person who pushed her to make suicide.
This movie was beautiful and fantastic, has fascinating storyline, excellent cinematography and outstanding actors. It was engaging to watch, especially the three main characters. The location of this film was so beautiful, perfect for artists looking for stunning sights and there were many horses, but I’m not that fun of horses. The images and music helped a lot for making the film completely sensational and all the actors performed their characters wonderfully. It was full of emotion and passion and it was a heartbreaking and tragic story. Even though, it was classic without a doubt, but the image looks beautiful. There were good performances of the characters in this film.
A few failures of the film
The script was interesting and offering great dialogues. But, I was a little confused why Florence selects and accepts the marriage proposal of Munnings instead of Evans who was more compatible and much better matched with her. It was not clearly explained in this film which I think the script’s greatest failure. I really don’t understand why Florence and Evans couldn’t be together. It was shown already that they love each other and there was no reason why they need to stop their feelings with each other. It wasn’t explained clearly in this film so I was quite confused. Even her father liked Evans rather than Munnings.
All in all, Summer in February could still give something beautiful like the setting, photography and arts so you can still appreciate the entire movie after watching it. It was not that bad film.
